In 1955 verwierf Kroger Babb illegaal Ingmar Bergmans film Summer with Monika (1953) en bracht deze in de VS uit, waarbij hij enkele ingrijpende wijzigingen aanbracht om de film geschikt te maken voor de exploitatiemarkt. Hij hernoemde de film tot Monika, the Story of a Bad Girl!, kortte hem in tot 64 minuten, voorzag hem van Engelse stemmen en voegde een melodramatische soundtrack van Les Baxter toe. Eén scène is te vinden die uit de originele versie van Bergmans film was verwijderd.
