Tijdens een saai schoolreisje naar een dolfinarium krijgen vijf boefjes, genaamd de Stinkers, het briljante idee om Slappy, de zeeleeuw te ontvoeren uit zijn bassin. Ze willen Slappy vrijlaten in de oceaan, waar hij thuishoort. Helaas is er nog een andere kaper op de kust die Slappy ook wil ontvoeren, om hem te laten optreden in een circus. Toch weten de Stinkers Slappy mee te smokkelen uit het dolfinarium, maar als Slappy paniek veroorzaakt, worden de Stinkers van school weggestuurd.
