Tales of the Valley of the Wind componeert een experimentele liefdesbrief aan de spirituele wereld van Hayao Miyazaki, waarbij [Nausicaa] wordt omgevormd tot weelderige live-action scènes met historische kostuums, paarden, zwaardvechten en, eh... Marionetten. En dat alles met een klein budget, Packard implementeert zijn kenmerkende experimentele touch om inderdaad een zeer unieke fanfilm te creëren.
