Indy gaat op reis naar de South Pacific, op jacht naar een fabelachtige, verdwenen diamant. De oorlog in Europa is over, maar voor Indy begint een nieuw avontuur als hij na de woorden van een stervende mysterieuze man: "Het oog van de pauw" met Remy op jacht gaat naar één van Alexander de Grote zijn meest dierbare bezittingen. Achtervolgd door een gevaarlijke één-ogige man volgt Indy het spoor van de diamant van Londen naar Alexandria en de South Seas, waar hij een aanvaring heeft met een moordlustige Chinese piratenbende.
