Louis Aubinard is fotograaf van Nieuwtestamentse afbeeldingen en is nog steeds op zoek naar een oprechte Jezus. Een bevriend acteur vraagt hem de gunst een nasynchronisatieklus over te nemen, waar hij een dame ontmoet die hem vertelt over de droevige pianist die ze een glimlach op het gezicht wilde toveren in ruil voor een duur horloge. De pianist zou wel eens de juiste Jezus kunnen zijn. Thuis heeft de fotograaf het ook niet makkelijk omdat zijn gekke zus achtervolgingswaanzin heeft en alle gerechten pureert, zoals de zeer grote vis die hij mee naar huis neemt.
